I finally got myself to stop being lazy and sort out the photos from day 1 & 2 of my short getaway trip to Batam for my birthday celebration. If you haven't been there, it's in Indonesia which but only a 30mins ferry ride from Singapore. Initially I was concerned that I had only exchanged 150$ but turns out it was more than enough for the 2 days 1 night trip that turned into a 3 days trip because we got drunk and ended up booking a room in holiday inn at the other side of batam which we got to cable skii but I will get to that in my next post.

Update: Someone asked me on twitter to do a more detailed write up on my batam trip as she will be heading there for a vacation soon so I thought this might help!

What resort/hotel did you stay in? : The resort I stayed in is called Montigo Resort.

How did you get there? : We took a ferry from Tanah Merah ferry terminal in Singapore to Nongsa Point Marina in Batam. The check in time would be about half an hour before your ferry's arrival so be sure to be there early.

What if I'm late for my ferry? : If you missed your ferry like I did. You can always take the next one or even another ferry the following day and there wouldn't be an additional charge.

How do I get from the ferry terminal to the resort? : If you're staying in the Montigo Resort, you can inform the resort staffs the time of your arrival probably the day before and a shuttle bus will be scheduled to pick you up.  If you didn't there will be taxi around if got there in the day. The streets are pretty empty at night so it's impossible to flag a cab.

How to get around in batam? : What we did was to get our resort to call a cab for us and he would drop us off at a certain location and pick us up again within a couple of hours when we're done with our stuffs.

I hope these info helps!
